Google Friendly Image Sites

Okay, here's my goal.

I'm trying to get some images ranked in Google Images for a certain keyword.

I would love some suggestions for "Google Friendly" image sites (like 500px.com). My only limitation is that I don't want to use the big social sites like Facebook, Pinterest ect.

Would also like any other advice for doing this.

    Images rank just like webpages.

    Get some high PR backlinks & point them at your self hosted image (on your domain).

    Images are usually easy to rank since everyone else is mostly focused on ranking a webpage. Keep in mind images can also be ranked in Google text search.

      So are you recommending that I actually point backlinks at the URL image link itself? I had never thought of that.

        Yep, that's the easiest way to rank an image.
