Unfortunately there are a lot of people selling PR domains that lost all their links. Some are apparently buying them and then link spamming them to get moz metrics up. Google has not updated their toolbar inclose to a year so you best beware if you are buying just on pagerank

You may be best with a broker or namejet. Godaddy domains of quality tend to get bid through the roof in the last few hours

Just make sure to examine the backlinks very well

I've got a few spare domains that I recently scraped and are unregistered you can have. All have strong wikipedia links (I know they're nofollow but it's gotta be worth something right?) and some other links. Pageranks not a good indication, but they show 1 if that floats your boat. Check your PM.

Godaddy auction and private dealers is the best option in my opinion.

I know both Godaddy and Namecheap have auction houses for expired domains.

Just make sure you check anything out you are interested in Way Back Machine (just google it) before buying.

Godaddy auctions? Search that for domain names on auction, do a PR scan on them and then see if there is anything that you like.

There are so many persons who are selling their PR domains but the thing is they might be attacked with low rating or spammed sites so be careful when you take a site and there are some auctions in Godaddy site and, speed host, Bigrock, Crazy domains.

there is no point in getting such domains because you'll lose the rank eventually. i'll give you an example - if you try migrating a blog hosted with Blogger to Wordpress with the same domain and same content, your search engine rankings take a hit. PR will definitely be hit in case of expeired domains.

I use RegisterCompass.com but expireddomains.net isn't too bad for free. TBSolutions.info is a broker who sells decent domains as is heisdomains.com.

    Hope that helps.

+1 for registercompass.org. The main disadvantage of register compass and other similar tools is that you have to do the heavy lifting to spam-check the domains so you can pick and purchase the highest quality domains.

There are expired domain sellers selling vetted domains that are completely spam-free. One of them is domainjawa.com owned by Spencer and Hayden of NichePursuits.com and NoHatSEO.com respectively.

Considering that PR has barely been updated in the past year, unless you check the links, you really do not know that the PR is still there. And even checking the links, you are still just making a solid guess.

You should forget about PR. It has not been updated for ages and most sellers are selling fake PR sites either intentionally or unintentionally. Check Majestic TF/CF (emphasis on TF) check the backlinks themselves.

But even metrics don't do justice to the quality of a domain sometimes, i grabbed a domain recently (check my thread that i made, the metrics value dropped lower than that a few weeks later) that had really terrible metrics but the backlinks were from good authority domains, was very puzzled actually and i setup a PBN anyway and lo and behold, just one link from it jumped my rank from #29 to #16 and climbing for a competitive keyword so you can't really trust metrics either but they should help.

After google updates their PR this time (i have feeling they are going to do it sometime this year instead of completely retiring because its still a helpful metric on quality of a site) thats when you should buy PR sites but their prices will probably skyrocket than they already because the metric will be freshly updated.

    Good luck

The metrics offered by ahrefs, moz etc are so inaccurate. The only thing you need to look at are the quality of backlinks. Number of outbound links etc. With PR not having been updated for a while, it's best to get expired domains with backlinks from reputable websites.
