Backlink/page rank question...

Sorry, I searched the forum for this, but couldn't find a relevant post...

I was building some backlinks yesterday and noticed that the actual profile pages I created had no page rank, even though the home page of the site had a good page rank. I'm assuming this doesnt matter...? If it doesn't matter, I'm just wondering why. Seeking knowledge...

    Hi Jim,

To clarify so I can answer you...is it
When you mean profile pages, are you referring to
    "internal pages" of blog posts?

Personally I feel PR is secondary.

You can focus on other more important things
like building your list, building your readership
    and your subscribers' loyalty. =)

It's completely standard for your profile pages on high PR domains to not have any pagerank. Remember page rank is for pages not the entire sites.

As long as you're able to get these profile pages indexed they will still be beneficial backlinks. Regardless of their pagerank.

    Cheers

    Jim,
PR does not mean as much as you may think it does... Big deal I have a site I never advertised and has no content on it just one page that says coming soon and its a PR1..

PR = Page Rank -- NOT site rank but Page Rank, this is why it is called Page Rank. A sites main page can be a PR 5 but internal pages be a PR 0.. Personally I do not put too much weight on PR because it is also possible for a PR1 to outrank and have 3 times the traffic of a PR 7 site..

    I agree with James...

    focus on driving targeted traffic
    and build this targeted traffic
and convert them to buying customers
and build your pool of buying customers... =)

This is where your money is.

    To your success!

Pagerank will come if you focus on all the other things they mention, but I disagree to say it isn't important..
