Hello, the question is in the topic:

Do backlinks really have SEO juice nowadays after Penguin?

If yes, please tell where to get/buy them?

If no, please tell how to promote in Google then?

thanks

Google itself said that they will be using backlinks as the main ranking factor during next 100 years. By the way what makes you to think these about backlinks?

      My god yes

To rank you only need two things.

Good quality content on your website and natural keyword free strong links pointing to your webpages.

Backlinks are still the no. 1 ranking factor in Google and they therefore have a lot of weight in Google, but theit relevance is decreasing gradually as other ranking factors come into play.

You said backlinks are still number 1, what other ranking factors can come into play?

Proper internal/external links are still stronger than ever, nothing has changed.

        Yes you can buy them.
But it is important that they do not look like bought links.

        This means:
        No sidewide links.
        No keyword rich links.

I would recommend buying links on high PR websites in the same niche.
The best way is a contextual link on a new article on the site.

          .
          That's not completely true.

Two of my PBN sites with sitewide keyword anchor-text one way links are still ranking pages years later...

I wouldn't go crazy blasting sitewide links on hundreds of domains but a few domains isn't a big deal.

should i contact sites' webmasters manually one by one, or is there a decent automated service to do this?

Some of the best links I have found are from signing up to Google, Youtube, Yahoo and big directories like 192 and Yell. I have been using a list I found through Google called Top 280 UK directory list, but there are loads

Backlinks will always have weight, but it just isn't a good idea to buy them. Even if Google can't detect it right now, they are always evolving. So practices that are safe today won't be safe tomorrow.

Backlinks from authority sites in your niche will always be valuable. There are ways to get them for free.

I have seen some sites with no back links out rank sites with lots of back links.

Although I know most here will not agree. It is in my niche. The content and site structure is ok, but not the best either.

Sure but it also depends on type of links. One good link is stronger than thousands of spammy links.

The site ranking most likely has a good domain authority

If it is any kind of competitive niche, there are probably links you just are not seeing.

I would go a step further and say that there are for sure links you just are not seeing. People can debate content is king vs backlinks as far as ranking all they want, but I can't see how anyone would think a site with no, or very few, backlinks will rank high. If a web page is ranking at the top of SERPs it has some good or great backlinks (the number of which depends on the competitiveness of the keyword in question).

First of all, Penguin has been around for over two years now. It is not something new.

Second, the whole point of Penguin is to evaluate the quality of backlinks, so of course links still have value. If they did not, Google would have no need for the Penguin filter.

Recently it was experimented after ignoring backlinks weight-age from ranking factors but the results were even worst so this means Backlinks still play important role in ranking boost. As long as buying link Google always discourage buying links and it is a black hat SEO so be careful.

Back link is very essential factor that decide site ranking on SE. If you have less but quality and high PR back links, you will get rank top on SE. After many updation, it is fact that SE needs quality, not quantity.

I think you people mistake google for a global police force. Too funny.

      Getting back to the topic.

People mistake ranking and backlinks all the time.

This thread will rank #1 for some terms, no external backlinks. People will point
out, see, you can rank without backlinks! Backlinks don't mean squat!

Complete misconception about backlinks. Each search result is determined by
time, location, current events, personal history, topic, keywords, etc. You cannot
compare ranking factors straight up on every search, no more than you can compare
      apples to oranges.

It might not have any external backlinks but it already has 30+ internal backlinks, and if someone doesn't understand how inner-domain backlinks work then screw them, they don't deserve to understand SEO at all....

Links are the number one factor for ranking in the algorithm even till this day.

If you are not linkbuilding, you should just stop SEO completely.
