Press Releases and Google Algorithms...?

Do you think there is any risk of getting hit by a penalty for putting out a press release on webwire for example?

Assuming it isn't a spammy press release and one that focuses on anchor texts, etc....

Also is WebWire as safe to use as PrWeb and any of the more expensive press release websites?

Thanks. Cheers

I see no reason why that should be risky.

However, you may not get the desired result of ranking maybe just traffic and also that's passed on how well your press release and keywords are tallied.

No. I'm not sure what it is, but I wouldn't want to use any services beyond putting out a press release about updates with my website and seeing if any industry sites or anyone sees it. Also if anyone looks up the company they can also see latest info, any ranking benefits would be a plus of course.

It is a PR release. Kind of like PRweb, but much cheaper. I bought 6 credits and only used one so far , but seems to be a good PR .. You can check into them. Just wanted to let you know it is out there.

Ok thanks. I'll check them out. I thought PR Wire looked like that too. Press release options for around 20 dollars and I also saw that companies like Coca Cola where on their site so it looks like it should be pretty legitimate.

I just wrote a blog article on this topic recently.

No, you/your site will not be penalized.

The sites that got slapped were affected because it was time for a change and they were on Googles radar.

This was the first time press release distribution sites were affected and only the major sites got hit.

    Best of Luck,

    J. Barry
