Writing two posts for same keyword.

I read that writing two posts to target one keyword is not good. Even SEO yoast plugin warns me that a post is targeting existing keyword.

But I see many times Websites come #1 and #2 on google search for same keyword .

Write : "solution to bad breath" on google and Howstuffworks comes #1 and #2

I rank #1 on google for many keywords...why not write additional articles to come to #2 as well ?
#keyword #posts #writing

Don't worry about this. Write your posts freely. Google will rank the best post out of two as per the quality of the content. Try to give your efforts on the quality of content. You are safe.

yes i thought so. SEO yoast is wrong about his warning. If you google "How to gain weight" Wikihow comes in #1 and #2

Being a slow process SEO does not show the effect very instantly. Secondly there are other factors as well that contributes to the ranking. And hence only posts with keywords are not the only criteria to be considered.

You cannot write a post about ://

How to draw a circle twice.

The articles in 1 and 2 positions are completely different and targeting different keywords. Google finds that theyre both relevant. to the topic thus giving it the top 2 positions. Also the articles are in different categories

You can write two posts but they should tell different things for the same information. Or you can tell your story in two parts or more. Just like " Solution to bad breath Part1" and Solution to Bad Breath Part 2" so it will be a continuous post. Add LSI keywords so to it. Yoast is delivering a wrong message or you may be linking same keyword pointing to same domain in just one single post.

I don't target keywords, however most of my postings naturally target the same two keywords, which I rank well for overall, because that is what my website is about. I have probably 500 pages with two of the same keywords in it.

Imagine having a blog about ladies bags, the words ladies and bags and all their many variations might appear on every single page... this is natural.

You can write and it helps you. But write unique articles, don't use same info in both articles.

I searched keyword "link building" in Google.com and search results are as:
    1. What is Link Building? Strategies & Examples - The Beginners Guide to SEO - Moz
    2. Link Building - Moz Blog
    3. Link building - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So, if your both blog posts include quality and match with other SERP ranking parameters then definitely both post will rank.

The method I use to rank on the first page of Google for DOZENS of keywords is to write one PAGE targeting several topics within my niche!

Yes, let me repeat...you only need to create only one Wordpress page...not a Wordpress post.

Second, make sure your page has unique content of 1,000 words of more.

For example, if I was writing a page about "bad breath", I would include these topics (keywords) within the content:

    - why do I have bad breath
    - what cures bad breath
    - what is halitosis
    - what are symptoms of halitosis
    - very bad breath all the time
    - treatment for bad breath

Third, link out to one or two authority sites such as Wikipedia or a medical site.

Fourth, make sure you have images on your page. Use the 'alt tag' to tag each photo with a different topic or keyword from above.

Fifth, embed a related YouTube video within your page.

Last, I would write another page targeting pet's bad breath. A ton of people get online and are searching for solutions for their dog's bad breath.

You will have thousands of visitors to your site per day for only one page if you use this method.

Hope you come back and see this. What is the difference exactly between creating a page and a post ? It will be a mess if I created hundreds of pages to list my posts. Not to mention that these pages wouldn't be categorized and they will not appear in my related posts plugins and sidebars.

I have ranked many of my clients on same keyphrase, #1 - mainpage , #2 - for a subpage, nothing to worry about, quality of your backlinks and your content matters only if you fullfil that you can rank that way you`ve described.

You can target the same keyword with two posts, but the content should obviously be unique and provide some quality info to readers. However, your time may be better spent targeting other keywords unless your keyword is highly lucrative.

I would interlink within articles when I can using different keywords but will not go overboard.

I find it good to create different topics and interlink using one keyword. Sometimes two keywords but in different articles. I dont think its that useful to interlink more than once unless you use anchors.

Writing 2 posts which are original is fine and safe, Yoast SEO is just a good tool, but still a tool.

I have also been wondering the same! But I think there shouldn't be any issues if you provide unique content in both and should at least be informative.

It is fine to write two posts around the same keyword. The reason you are getting warnings is probably because you should be aware that you are targeting the same keyword. Hence, you are competing with yourself for that keyword. Its not like you will get punished or anything though.

You could rank in two places on Google search for the same keywords, but the content of the articles should be unique. In other words, don't create two very similar articles for those same keywords and ensure there is something unique being said in each article.

There isnt anything wrong with two post targeting the same keyword This is actually healthy for a website. The more exposure that a site gets in a search engine, the more exposure that your website will get
