Ive recently been trying a new technique and wanted your thoughts on it. Basically I bought a domain what was the main keyword then I created a good poster full of graphic deign linking to my eCommerce website. I then listed every product in my niche to act as a daffodil keyword then I wrote a 1000 word article basically about the the keyword and all the products, history, manufactures, pioneers etc. I instantly indexed it and then forgot I actually made it because I was so busy concentrating on other stuff.

So I was checking my referred traffic the other night and I have sore that ive got over 200 views to the money site in the space of two weeks from this site. Its all organic search and has 0 backlinks.

Is this white hat ? Im thinking of doing it or various keywords and then linking them all to my site will this be negative seo?

Creating multiple links from the same domain is pointless for SEO, and only good for referral traffic.

Google has stated numerous times that multiple links on a domain are diminished, and can easily be seen as spam or paid advertising.

I would recommend creating new domains to provide links. In essence, a private blog network. But that's another topic, and a hell of a lot of reading for you.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

If I understood OP correctly he doesn't care about the feeder site ranking the money page/site, it's simply direct traffic from the feeder site. The SEO would have been the feeder site ranking for multiple longtail keywords considering there's no links built for the feeder page/site.

OP, sounds like a good direct traffic plan for the money page/site, scale up, repeat...

Would this come back to bite him in the arse later on?

Having a bunch of sites built by you pointing to your money site?

If they use some common sense & don't spam out their network of sites they'll be fine with Google/SERPs.

I've been doing the multi site same niche thing for years. I even use the same domains for followed links, which gets me multiple domain pages ranked per keyword. I have one large authority site & another site that's semi authority, the rest are all small sites that are each laser focused on individual sub-niches of the overall niche that I target with the large sites. Think of the small sites as categories of the large sites.

Look at all the BIG sites on the net, they all have networks of domains passing authority back & forth.

Example, look at the footer on hxxp://www.discovery.com

What you're showing me makes sense and i have seen it on many websites. Why do many rely on PBNs, or find the need to mask their identity.
Think of the small sites as categories of the large sites.

I really like that idea, not only are they smaller sites, but they can cover a topic more deeply without going off topic on your main site. which is nice, and i would like to do that, similar to what OP made the thread about. But I keep having this fear that i am somehow going to mess up, even though i am not out to do junk work.

Yukon's example is a great idea. However, each site from the Discovery network is an authority in its niche. Standard PBN's do not contain authotriy sites. They are (more or less) just some means of of obtaining links for other authorit sites. that's why they are always masked.

It helps that at least one of the sites in a network is an authority but that's not complicated. I'm not exaggerating when I say my main site was a niche authority before I ever started/cared about SEO for the site.
