So here is the thing; I think maybe, just maybe I might have found 2 amazon affiliate ideas to build my 1st affiliate site around. However I'm still having a little trouble figuring out how difficult it would be to beat the comp. I'm stuck between 2 product categories and I would love some advice on which one to choose:

-1. First category - 2 main comp websites, ranking 2 and 3, I've found about 7-8 main keywords with about 13000 searches total. Both these websites are built around the same keywords (almost), decent SEO (keyword in title meta tags etc). One of these has about 500 backlinks, the other one about 350. Though most of these links are from blogs with 1 article in them?? (is this what they call a PBN?) a couple of backlinks from edu and gov and few from forum posts. One of the websites has a Moz PA of 32 and DA of 30, the other a PA of 27 and DA of 20

2. Second category - again 2 main comp websites, ranking 3 and 5, about 4 main keywords, a total of 7500 searches. Decent SEO as stated above (header, meta tags etc). One has 300 back links (again what looks like PBN) and other one about 200 backlinks. 1st Comp Moz PA is 27 and DA of 25, 2nd comp Moz PA of 22 and DA of 20

Question 1: Which of the 2 categories to choose?

Question 2: Would anyone be able to give me a better idea of what the PA and DA rating actually mean for comp? I know what PA and DA is, what I want to know is how competitive is say a PA of 30 or 25? Would I be able to outrank them with a little effort or should I steer clear?

Question 3: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being very difficult) how hard is to get say 500 backlinks? Will it require major time or money investment?

Question 4: Will I make any money if I say end up ranking 6-7th on google's 1st page? Let's say the total searches (all major keywords) is 15000 and the amazon product sells for $100. Will this website at 7th position be able to clear say $200-$250/Mo?

Content Wise I'm pretty sure I can get better and more innovative content up there however since it is a consumer product (both the categories) I don't think people will be reading too much apart from the product info.

Thanks for taking the to read. Looking forward to some insights.
