Hello,
I have 5 links page two of google for my phrase without quotes. There is only like 33k competition. And the front page are articles mostly.

One of the pages was solid on the first page, but about 2 weeks ago i started to put backlinks to it and it moved away. I know the google dance happens, but it's been a while now and it seems to have found a spot on the second page.

The other four, I put 50 backlinks to as well, they moved around for a little but then they stopped. If I could get all 5 of these links to the first page it would be great.

Do I just keep sending backlinks to it? They all have no less then 50 BL's and they are stuck on page 2. That's the same place they went after google indexed them..

    Dennis,

Let me give you some advice if I would.

You can not rely on the search engines ONLY to get your free traffic even if there is not much competition going on. One week you can be on page on, and the next week you can be at page 11.

So don't fully rely on the search engines.

It happens. Did you immediately start sending links to it? Do you own the pages or are you using a parasitic host? How long have they been on the web? Is the content good? Where are you getting your links from (are they from sites that have the same theme?...are you building the sites yourself or paying for a link from an established site in the same niche?)

I really wouldn't worry about it too bad. Let it sit for a month or so and start something else. Revisit it and see where Google has you.

Typically, I am not real aggressive about building links coming straight out of the gate. And the links that I do build are negotiated with other webmaster's in the same niche (I call or email them).

That doesnt really answer my question, I'm unsure what you're meaning is.

My links are from articles as well, go articles, hubpages, etc.. so my POINT is, i have 50+ backlinks, from PR4+ sites and they are ranking ower thne just the articles that chances are don't have backlinks to them at all... so i don't see how that answers my question.

      To Ldimilo,
On some of my sites (like hubpageS) i sent back links to it immidiately, as I know hubpages ranks high so i figured that would be a good boost. The other backlinks are from Angela and Pauls backlinks..

I guess I'll just wait for a month or so, but ever since being knocked off page one my site traffic has gone down to 20-30dailys.. before it was like 60..and my site converts decently, it's a review site.

My goal was to boost the dailys upto about 100views per day, that's why i was fighting to get to the top of google for the KW phrase.

And the front page are articles mostly.
If front page are articles mostly, I'm quite sure their authors never bothered to build back links but still are on first page!

    Why?

Ask this question to yourself and you'll get the answer. As far as I know Google considers the articles as "Authoritative" than your site's content and authority doesn't just come by building backlinks. Focus on quality of content and you won't have any problem. It requires a little patience while dealing with Google

With little competition - I don't think backlinks are your problem. Is your on page optimisation ok?

IE have you tried tweaking the on page stuff? Maybe you've overused the keyword, not utilised header tags, bold text, is internal linking ok.

Even something as simple as removing or adding a H1 tag with your keyword could put you on page one.

Adding a little more content, some LSI keywords related to your phrase perhaps.

Make sure your on page optimization contains your keyword without keyword stuffing. Get them in your page title, page description, H1 tags, and the text of the page. Then make sure you get a few good solid related links to those pages with your keywords somewhere in the anchor text. This is usually enough for semi-competitive keywords.
