Does disavowing a domain also effect the subdomains?

Do you think when disavowing it pays to find every subdomain there is?

I've added all that I can find anyway but what do you think?

    It might not hurt to disavow links for all your subdomains. Just wondering how many subdomains you have if you are having trouble keeping up with them.

    Not so much but some directories seem to have random subdomains that pop up although they may part of the domain cause some sites show it as one domain on Google Webmaster Tools even with multiple links.

    A better question is, does the disavow tool do anything useful for anyone besides feeding data to Google.

    Google doesn't like link sculpting but your literally proving that your doing link sculpting with that disavow tool in WMT.

      Well once Google has tanked your site there isn't really a better option. John Muller from Google has said the disavow tool works when the algorithm is updated. He and Google would look pretty unethical and bad if all the people filing disavow tools had no effect from it.

        Lol, why would Google look bad when you'll never be able to prove disavow does anything for the public? Google is a business, they don't owe you or anyone else anything.

          Well there would be easy proof to seo people that monitor tons of websites. If all these sites that have cleaned up don't see improvement a lot of seo's could get angry at Google including businesses and maybe some lawsuits can happen.

          Of course they're a business and I'm not defending them, I guess I just hope the disavow tool isn't complete bs and if it is I think people would start going to the Google hangouts and calling them out on it. They do webmaster hangouts on a weekly basis sometimes, which seo people attend and recently the issue of Penguin seems to come up regularly now.

            Stop wasting time hanging on to every word from Google employees. They're not employed to help you rank pages. If (big If) you have a slapped domain, use your disavow tool then 6 months later move on to another domain & good links. Or, just skip the 6 months.

            So what If Google refreshes faster, a penalty is a penalty. Keep in mind that dropping in the SERPs isn't proof of any penalty, things like link loss or devalued links can be corrected.

              For the niche I'm in I think dropping to page 8-10 like it was before showed a penalty and a Penguin analysis site showed traffic drop on my site at the same time as a Penguin update. A Penguin update seems likely to happen pretty soon so I think at this point it's worth seeing what happens with a update.
