Blogging on your site - no follow links - advertise?

Do you no follow links to your site on your blog, or does it not matter to search engines - for example to not effect a penalty by Google?

Also is advertising about your site at the end of an article on your blog - assuming it relates to the article? As an example if you are writing about a story relating to cars then at the end of the articles mentioning about the type of cars you sell and how it relates to the story in the blog post, etc..

Thanks

I don't understand your question. Try rephrase your question or elaborate more.

I'm talking about a blog on an e-commerce site. I had two questions.

    1) Should you make nofollow links to your website from your blog posts, or does it not matter?

And 2) At the end of an article on an ecommerce blog is it considered normal to have a few sentences advertising about your website and how it relates to your blog post?

For example - if you sell office products and you are blogging about the office industry at the end of the article you can mention something anout the office products you sell.

I would not use nofollow. Pretty much makes the link worthless for anything other than direct traffic.

The reason I said nofollow is cause of Google Penguin, maybe it doesn't make a difference for that tho

Spammy links are spammy links. Does not matter if they are nofollow or not. Makes zero difference in regards to Penguin.

It's not spammy links tho. I guess what I'm asking could be is if it is spammy to mention your site at the end of an article or better to let the article gain authority on it's own and simaltanouesly build authority to the site.

And what I'm telling you is nofollow tags do not protect you from Penguin.

Linking from your own blog should not be an issue.
