Oddly Low Keyword ranking

Hi all,

I've recently taken over trying to SEO my company website (hxxp://www.playgroundmarkingsdirect.co.uk) for the keyword "Playground Equipment", however the current ranking of that keyword for the website it around position 90 whereas (literally) all the other keywords for the site are around <10-15.

I've been editing the Meta Description and the Title over the past few weeks trying to find the right combination for the keyword but to no avail.

Is there something that is punishing the website for that specific keyword, or is the current SEO for it just poor?




Page Title: "Playground Equipment | Playground Markings Direct"

Meta Description: "Here at Playground Markings Direct we sell a wide range of playground equipment. Anything from Climbing equipment to Markings and Signs, all over the UK."

    Hi Mallander,

    brief overview doesn't look like there is anything of concern on the site in terms of content and a-like.

    i'd say you need some higher weighted backlinks from more relevant sources to push position higher for the keyword.

    There really wouldn't be a penalty in my eyes because you have high rankings on other terms with the same page.

    If you're struggling why don't you consult someone with a solid reputation to help you? If you can't see why your not ranking then you really need some advice on what works in SEO and methods to obtain these.

    Meta descriptions doesn't add any SEO benefits. If they are well written and attractive, will probably increment the amount of times people click on it, but that's it. By the way, I think it's pretty much ok written.

    It could be that the keyword you mention has higher competence than the others. This is the most probable reason but there might be others like the lack of backlinks from trustworthy sources related to those keywords.
