Without seeing you URL stats I can't tell you what the problem is. If you need high quality backlinks, link to BIG authority sites like youtube, warrior forum etc. Also make sure you are not over optimizing your site. Google is getting more intelligent all the time and will penalize you if it sees a pattern.

Try adding your website at communities like adobe.com and do follow forums, backlinks from these website means a lot.

I think you are not aware about the Google rules and regulations. According to Google's recent updates it is quiet clear that having thousands of bad backlinks are not enough to rank on Google. The backlinks should of high quality and having many backlinks from a single source is also not worth. SO better you understand these things and then optimize your keywords accordingly.

And as we all know Content is the King so your website should have quality content otherwise it's impossible to rank on Google.

These days its all about getting natural links from real users, which may seem a little 'slap in the face' obvious, but its very true.
Ive found, the best way to get good quality, natural and relevant backlinks is by simply creating high quality content that people will naturally want to link to. again, i know this seems obvious, but there is no real way to cheat the system. Dont get me wrong though, directories and forum links etc, are good and wont hurt, but instead of finding 2000 directories or similar to post your link in, why not find 2 or 3 high quality forums and article submission sites and really get involved with the users. Warrior forum is a great place to start for instance.. If your business was in the SEO and marketing niche, then why not build a natural authority on high authority forums. Lets say you have just published some nice, fresh, well written, informative content on your SEO niche site... (which is real SEO juice anyway, in many ways much better than countless backlinks). Now, how would you get people to find it? well tell people about it.. common sense really. If/once you have authority in a busy forum in your niche, users would be more than happy to see what you say in you spanky new article or blog post etc. Drop a little message onto some forums,
"hey guys, just published my last article on...".
Give a nice opening paragraph to explain what its about and capture the attention of the reader, then.
"you can see my full article on this subject HERE, let me know what you think, your views are always welcome, goes without saying, but feel free to share it!"

This way, rather than asking for links via webmasters etc.. You are leveraging your 'already-authoritive' self and pushing people towards your site.. yes this wont drive enquiries for your SEO business, but it will create a buzz around your content, and in turn, more people and sites, all relevant to your niche (in this case SEO) will read your content, rate it, and ifits good (which it will be) they will naturally link back to it... creating fully natural, relevant links naturally. whilst at the same time building up your site with great content. Keep this proccess going and soon enough you will have dozens of really high quality links back to your content, ultimately building up your authority within your market.

This is not a 'cheat the system' technique.. infact, its the exact way it should be done. There is no cheat the system anymore.. you have to be quality in order to succeed.

its simple really :

-create well written, fresh, informative, problem solving, relevant, immersive and engaging content.
-use your authority within a forum or similar to say "hey look, check out my latest and let me know how you feel.. link here"
market your new content well, post links to it (not the article itself) across forums, and other sites you engage in and have authority.
-natural links come in from all over


its not a particulary fast approach, but its the proper way to do it. And its actually easier than trying to cheat the system in my opinion. Quality is KEY. Do this a few times and you will see great improvement on your search ranks. Keyword density isnt even a massive deal for me. I feel google picks up on relevance very well now. a bit of research and use your keyword in the title and meta etc. and the rest just write completely naturally.

20K backlinks is a lot, you should know the days when quantity matters are past, these days quality matters, build guality 1st tier and then boost them with lower tiers.

Quality is most important than quantity! though you may have 20000 or 50000 it doesn't matter to Google, how much quality they are matters a lot. Try get do-follow quality links from forums, community sites, authority sites, .org, .gov sites. Then see the magic of your rankings. Getting quality BL is not so easy, but they are worthy.

My blog age is about 3 months and have only 20 backlinks. But I found couple of page already on top 10 results. So far I have 8 to 10 backlinks from same niche blog and 5 to 7 from top quality forums and others from directory. I think you should have quality backlinks rather quantity.

Ask yourself these questions:

Are the back links you build from quality and trusted websites?
Are the back links relevant to your website?
Is your website new and you built too many back links quickly?
Did you use too many keywords or few keywords when building back links?
Did you use unique descriptions when building back links?
Is your website search engine optimized?
Is your website rich of content?

If the answer is no to one of these questions, then you should correct it.

Now a days quantity of your links is not important , quality is more important , you should have more quality links . Use fresh and quality content for your on page and off page activities.

Probably Google has not indexed your backlinks. you could use ping tools like pingfarm to ask Google to do that. but don't give it too much hope.

Hi, is this a new site? If it is, getting 20000 backlinks in 5 months to a new site is not natural, unless it is a site holding viral content. The key to ranking well post-Penguin is to get quality links and not quantity.

You need to check the quality of your 20000 backlinks using a tool like scrapebox, given the sheer amount of links. Doing it by hand will not justify your efforts. If you dont' have scrapebox, try to find one from Fiverr or odesk and talk to the freelancer if he can do this custom job for you.

You'll need to pull up data using scrapebox for info such as:
a) whether your backlinks are still alive (i.e. if the backlink exist or has been taken down by the website moderator)
b) what percentage of your alive backlinks are dofollow
c) the PR of the homepage for the links

Also,....
d) the trust flow of the domains linking to you (this one, you will need a tool like netpeakchecker). If the MajesticSEO trust flow or Moztrust of the domains are low (i.e. 0 - 10), it can pose a problem.
e) the distribution of your backlink profile (are they from different sites, and from different types of platform such as directories, web 2.0, blogs, comments, forums etc) This one you will need to eyeball your links. Or use Matthew's software to identify the platforms - http://www.rankcracker.co.uk/. If out of 20000 links, you only have a few platforms, it won't help to rank your site well.

Finally, if a substantial percentage of the 20000 backlinks that went live and are now dead, it is also an indication that Google uses to check if the site is building what Google terms as spammy backlinks. It'll hurt your site rankings too.
