Do you use any software / spread sheet to keep track of when and how many links you build per website for each keyword, or do you just monitor your results in google and link build for that keyword accordingly?

I just use a spreadsheet so i know where all the links are, for passwords and stuff. And so i can come back and add more for other sites

Documenting the link building work will be helpful for future reference. I also maintain it in Excel sheet to keep track on my link building process.

I have attached something I am thinking of using. Any comments on if this would suffice before I actively begin link building on a a handful of sites?

      1. I was thinking of creating 1 sheet per site
      2. Each time you build links, you add the keyword, links built, date and link provider if you want to track this
      3. If you want to monitor how many links you then have per keyword, you can filter by that column and sum the links built... you could then cross reference this with software to see how many have been indexed by Google.

I think it's a good idea to monitor your links but it just gets overwhelming. I have over 50 sites and blogs and I simply can't keep track of them all. heck I don't even know where sales come from sometimes; and sometimes sales pop up that I wasn't even aware I was promoting that product

I might be putting mine in an Access Database since the list will getting longer. That way I can use SQL to query different things. Right now, I'm very unorganized and have to get this going.

Its better to use the way which suits you the best. I use an excel sheet where i had everything from website to date when i submitted the link. I think this make the things easier.
