    Why would one want to fill up a site with facebooks posts and
    comments? Just because google indexes the crap does not
    mean it's actually valuable for a web searcher at any given time.


    I cannot believe that a scraping tool for facebook would be okay
    with facebook. That makes no sense.

    I'll just bet that there are a zillion of these scrapers already in use.
    I don't even need to google it.

    Your friend is dead wrong. think about it. If people even used that content how long would it be before large portions of it were on multiple sites as duplicate content?

        You are kidding yourself. you would be repurposing content for you or your customers own use. That is not what the TOS allows for and Facebook states clearly to its users

        You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook
        so you can run into all kinds of copyright issues. If your intent is just reproduce the conversations and posts as is that would make for one crappy site that I can't see any sensible person paying to get.
