Why is it easier for a video to rank than a website ?

See, I have done a website and trying to rank it for a specific keyword and at the same time I have uploaded a video n youtube to rank for that keyword as well. Now, the video went to first page of google for that keyword within a day, while a website which has this keyword mentioned a lot more frequently isn't even in top 300 WHY IS THAT ?!

    Videos don't rank, websites don't rank. A video is embedded on a webpage, the webpage ranks.

    You're confusing video with overall site authority, Youtube is an authority site, video just happens to be their content.

    You will have to submit video related to your content on video submission sites with high PR then you will get better result.

    Why is that?

    Youtube has massive authority in Google and anything on Youtube will generally rank faster and better than the same thing on your website, especially if your website is new. So your video is ranking better due to the internal links it has from authority pages within youtube.com.

    That is why.

    If you build links to your site, it may also rank on page 1 for the same keyword. Nevertheless, you should be happy that the video is on the first page because it can help funnel traffic to your website.
