Google Concentrating More On Semantic Web?

After the Hummingbird algorithm update, I asked Matt Cutts on twitter whether Google is now concentrating on Semantic Web(Web 3.0) ? To everyone's surprise there was no reply from him. most of these people never reply to any specific question.

Note: Semantic Web(web 3.0) is something which finds the meaning behind the syntax. Currently we are in Web 2.0 where our Search Queries are considered as Syntax. Whereas Semantic Web is something different. It finds the meaning behind the syntax.

I still have no doubt whether we are in Web 2.0 or we are moving towards Web 3.0. This is because, no matter how much SEO techniques you apply, you won't see a good result for your website in Google Search Results. So, does that mean Google is keep on updating their algorithm and trying to move towards Web 3.0 where we all will have better user experience?

I'd love to see some support for that statement because it's just shy of saying SEO is dead and everyone knows that isn't true.

It really doesn't matter if it's web 2.0 or 3.0 that key to success is quality content and quality backlink

    • Yes agreed. Original content with naturally built quality backlinks are a must for any SEO efforts. I agree they are time consuming but nothing is more sustainable than that. Also On Page optimization is important.

I have read many stories of 100% white hat people who were penalized, there are no guarantee even if you be 100% white hat and do nothing except build content you be 100% safe cos you don`t have any control over it what the others do, the others who could burn your white hat website for fun or for some other reason.
