First of all I'm new to the world of building web niche sites. For me, Its just a hobby.

I got an email recently from GSA promoting a new product called URL redirect pro.

I think I have a basic knowledge of how 301's and 302's work and how, why, and when to use them. (sort of)

what I don't understand is why someone would incorporate a bunch of 301 redirects in there back linking project pointing to a money site that is not going to be moved to a new domain.

How dose this help with seo or penguin updates and what would be the best way to use GSA url redirect pro?

I don't understand to the purpose of this software or what its used for.

    Hi gsavage5791,

I'm not sure, but it looks like the tool was built for web spammers that use URL shortening services in an attempt to cloak their URL from simple scraper bots. Mostly worthless from what I can see, unless your domain has been blacklisted by the websites where you are posting your web spam. This technique adds an extra step for webmasters that are removing blacklisted domains, as webmasters will need to follow the redirect to discover the domain and then remove the link. Not all webmaster will be willing to use extra resources so it may slightly improve the web spam stick rate, or slow down the process of removing web spam.

You are completely wrong. Url redirect pro is a GSA tool that auto creates up to 1,000 redirects to your site from url shorteners which you can then spam with lots of links. It's one of the ways you can avoid a link velocity penalty and works in a similar way as tiered backlinking.

It's a blackhat technique so I would only recommend using it on a site whose traffic and earnings you don't mind losing to the next Google update.
