Panda 4.1 updated by Sept. 25, 2014 where Google has announced that the latest version of its Panda Update a filter designed to penalize "thin" or poor content from ranking well- has been released. So last panda update has a major chance to penalize many website who has low quality content & Google also said about 3%-to-5% of search queries will be affected by this update.

      Take a look at this article describing the ranking factors if you're affected by the Panda update.

      Personally, I believe the best strategy is to:
      - produce just original content:
      - prevent internal duplicate content (filters etc);
      - remove the short articles (with less than 300 words) etc.;

        Well I have a Contact page on my blog and well there's about 130 words there, does this mean I should go make stuff up just to get it to higher numbers? Damn

          I think Google recognizes your contact page and you do not have to have a 500 article for that.. Just mainly on your main URL's

          130 words? These are "articles"? Sorry, but you must change your strategy. Less articles with more text is the solution.

          And, yes, if you read the leaked Google Guidelines 2014, you will see that the Contact page is a ranking signal.

    Why would you want to put out any low quality content in the first place? That doesn't make sense to do. Google should penalize those who put out low quality content. Better user experience.

    We forget sometimes that the point of people entering your website is for them to actually like what they see. If its trash they'll click the back button and go to another site.

    I have one thin content site that didn't get hit by that update but it was recently penalised by the last Penguin update. I still see many thin content sites ranking in Google, and whenever they get penalised, it's usually as a result of a Penguin update.

    Yeah this is something that I think a lot of people have been struggling with. This is definitely something that you're going to watch out for but as long as you're doing things by the book and you're not going through and really spamming out your articles or your content I think you're going to be fine...
