Separating Paragraphs for Maximum Diversity

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows about a software or tool that can automatically generate the (|) separator code that separates 2 paragraphs? Something where you can plug in multiple paragraphs and the software would automatically add the separator (|) in the right places and do anything else necessary with the code to make it readable by spinners.

I find this process quite difficult when creating manually, especially with nested spinning. Sometimes when you add double bracket { { at the beginning and end of the text, it doesn't work because of a problem with the code. For me to manually go into large amounts spintax code to try to investigate seems next to impossible.

Any advice on how to automate this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ethan

First look at what we know.

Paragraphs are separated by blank lines. So... open your text file in a text editor & search/replace all blank lines with a pipe symbol (|).

I wish it was that simple. I think the issue is with brackets. Since I'm trying to do this with nested spinning the bracket frequency at the beginning and end of the paragraph is not consist across all paragraphs, and as a result, the standard spintax structure doesn't apply-- it has to readjusted based on what's currently there.

I have a whole host of tools that I use to manipulate bulk text but I ended up having them built for my custom purposes and you might have to do the same honestly. Most are for linux though, not windows, so you will need to have a spare box that you can use. It's just faster when manipulating 1-2GB of text to use linux and in most cases Windows just isn't up to the task.... anyways.

Can you tell me how the script/software is supposed to know where the paragraph breaks go? Is it after a certain number of periods, or a range of periods or is there a symbol already marking where it should be put?

Working with already nested spin text is a nightmare most of the time. You may want to completely reevaluate your source file construction process. Ultimately, you will probably want to flat spin out your variations, insert you paragraph breaks and then respin+recombine.

Taking something that is already assembled and trying to modify it is never fun.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, your over complicating things.

I copied/pasted the OP comment into Notepad++ & 2 seconds later had a finished file. The pipe symbol or anything else you want would be [anything I want here] in the example below.

I may be unclear on what he wants to do... I thought he wanted to randomly insert paragraph breaks in a massive source file of prespun material. Dealing with huge blocks of prespun material can be tough... I'm talking about files at least 10-20mb per file on the very small side, and a couple hundred MB or larger on average.

If we are just talking about a simple copy/paste ordeal with a few small pages of text, that's different, I agree.

I do have a problem looking at micro situations on a macro level...

      (insert P.E. joke here)
