Anyone notice weird results showing up when searching on Google?

A decent amount of sites with not high authority and sometimes even low content seem to be showing up for keywords - for example searching or 'office supplies and furniture' aftera couple of results seems to be showing sites that aren't the highest of quality.

I do wonder if maybe when Penguin rolls out a lot of sites rankin high up might roll back to the upper pages and vice versa.

Sometimes the domain age speaks a lot.

The entire first page of the SERPs is all authority sites (office supplies and furniture). Clear your browser history & check with a incognito browser.

That's an illusion, what's really happening is well established internal/external link profiles. You can easily prove that with an old domain that doesn't have any links, it won't rank for anything decent.

Agreed, but Yukon sometimes site that don't have any website linking still shows up in SERPs with other authoritative websites. I know they may not rank for long but they do. Don't know the particular reason about why it happens? Hope to see something from you if you can make me more aware about it.

    hi,
I think its due to domain age and backlink to those websites. As backlinks are the important factor, It may be chance that these websites have quality backlinks
