Hi all, Could you guys please tell me what the best way to send inbound links to my site.Is it better the have keyword anchor text pointing to the individual page that subject/product resides on or just point all links no matter the keyword to the home page.

I'm trying to boost my rankings especially sub-pages while making the whole site rank better.

Thank you in advance guys n gals.

    Hi,

Google ranks websites "per" page which means that it's better to use your keyword pointing to the relevant website. If you point all your links to your home page it will NOT diversify your ranking portfolio. For example...

If you have a page on "link building techniques" then obviously you'll publish a post on that keyword. Next, you'll write content to build links on other websites. When building links, you'll point links to that pages content on "link building techniques"

    Now...

another thing to keep in mind is that Google has changes the way they rank websites and the weight they put into "targeted" keywords. They are using "latent semantic indexing" which allows them to relate keyword phrases together. It will be a good idea to build links using both "anchor" and "related" keywords to better diversify your links.

Hope this helps...if you have any more direct questions about this, please let me know.

For me, it completely demands on the content strategy are architecture of the site. That having been said, it's only extreme cases where it's purely one way or the other.

Improve the backlink profile to your homepage and the knock on effect is that your inner pages will rank better. However, if you want to get just a few inner pages to rank well, your best bet is to build links to these pages directly. Look up silo structures too if you want to use fewer backlinks to rank.

To AskAnAffiliate, thanks so much that is a great help and ty to everyone else that posted too.

Do article submit sites work well (when inserting anchor text links pointing to my site) if you write unique and useful content?

Is anyone able to give me the names of the good ones that i should use? (I don't know much about them and don't want to be penalized by adding links from the wrong sites).

    Thanks Again

It doesn't matter what you call the page, point strong followed links wherever you want to build up authority.

    Hi,

Article directories do work very well, but only use the ones that have a good reputation and that have a proven record. Google has been cracking down big time on article directories since many of them post duplicate content. Follow these tips when publishing content on article directories...

-Only publish content once on each article directory. Do NOT publish the same content on the others ones.
-Use both "targeted" and "related" anchor text within the resource box. Within article directories, you have an area to input resource box...maximum 2 links
    - Make sure you create useful content. The good article directories are monitored so make sure you post high quality content.

Here are some solid ones with high PR and allow do-follow links...

    Gather.com
    GoArticles.com
    Squidoo.com (after building reputation)
    Amazines.com
    EzineArticles.com (awesome)

      Those links are PRn/a - PR0 and/or nofollowed.

Lol @ EZA being awesome. It wasn't even awesome in it's prime (2007).

    Hi,

There are many factors that will determine a solid link... for example...Domain Authority and even domain age.

I've done very well building websites with established domain authorities and little to none page authority.

Either way, a diversity of links is always a good idea both no-follow and do-follow.

Don't even waste your time with article directories for backlink purposes. Seriously, this isn't circa 2000.
