Use a Google tool to translate or have http://yoursite.com and then duplicate everything and place it at http://yoursite.com/pr then translate yourself. You will do a better job if you are a native...

Hi I agree with the above two posts. As far as I'm aware changing a theme would not change any rankings in Google but you must be sure to change any seo information if it does not pull it through.
