OK i don't really know open office but this doesn't seem to work at all with ms word (2007), is that normal? Seems strange that word won't work with open office documents, guessing you will have to provide 2 versions.

Not the biggest fan of Microsoft but I don't understand how people can realistically do business without MS Office in all honesty.

I used to be a MS junkie but now I'm OO all the way! The pdf export alone is worth the change over since I write many pdfs. MS would have been more work to get my ebooks done - OO has the versatility, ease of use and built in PDF maker that makes publishing ebooks as easy as sending a file to print - you can't do better than that.

It has a full suite just like MS - OO Calc (spreadsheet), OO Impress (presentations and a lot of powerful graphic work for all my web projects I squeeze out with this baby!), OO Writer (Just the same as Word but better) and OOBase, OO Draw and OO Math - For FREE!

There's only 1 drawback and that's in the clipart area - MS downloads a good portion of their library - OO has none. But if you can find clipart, then OO is a great option and your clients can easily download it and use it to collaborate - OO does save as doc and docx formats as well as many more.

You can use it for any report or eBook you want to sell or give away. But i would appreciate it if you didn't give away or sell the actual template.

I don't know if this is the correct thread to ask this, but since I'm here.

I am working on my first 2 ebooks right now. I am currently working on them in MS Word. I downloaded a program a couple of years ago called CutePDF Writer that I was using to print PDF invoices from Quickbooks. Now I am using it to print PDFs from Word.

Would the Export feature from OO work better? And, I thought OO was replaced by Libre Office.

I mainly use MS Word 2010 myself, and it has PDF export as well but that might be because i have Adobe Acrobat installed.

I just wanted to make a PDF template for people that don't how to format their pages (maybe they just can't be bothered).

I chose OpenOffice to make the template because its free and more accessible to people. I only downloaded OO a couple of days ago, but you might be right about LibreOffice replacing it.

Did you then just "insert" it as an image in OO?
