  • The great thing about Twitter is that you can Tweet to groups utilizing hashtags. I like marketing on Twitter because it is semi interactive. Try to find the best hashtags and tag lines that will drive the most link clicks and Retweets. Sometimes you strike gold and your post gets Retweeted 50x to 100,000's of users.

I didn't really understand the power of Twitter for a while, it is hands down THE best social media marketing tool for businesses and allows you to reach a broad audience with very little followers if you know what you're doing.

As mentioned above, be sure to make good use of hashtags. I've also had great results from taking part in chats in my niche. Provide good information and interact with others. You get great visibility and you get in front of your target audience. (Your Klout score goes up, if you are about that sort of thing.)

I suggest building a massive following of people who are potential users of your product. Find them by using #hashtags and also follow the followers of your competition.
For example, I am looking to connect with Entrepreneurs, so I follow all the people who read Entrepreneur Magazine.

To get traffic from twitter, you need to optimize your profile and your tweet! Your profile must include a photo that will catch eye in the timeline; then you can increase engegament by mention of social leaders, asking for retweet, adding images and tweet, and format tweet so it is easily readable; finally use one hashtags far from the link if your message contain one! Try it out and see if it works! Try to increase your followers base as well!

I have had some luck with Twitter but it takes time and patience. Build a following by re-Tweeting and use hash tags. In time you will see it start to pay off.

LOL...I like the suggestion to build a massive following. Reminds me of the Steve Martin routine, where he announce "YOU can be a millionaire and pay NO taxes! Yes, YOU, I say YOU can be a millionair and pay NOOOO taxes. ... First, get a million dollars......" ba-dum-dum...

Anyway, do all of the above, but if I was a newbie to Twitter, I'd get a handle on participating in - and even hosting, once you've figured it out - a twitter chat, or "tweetchat".

A commenter above me mentioned getting good results from taking part in chats.

Here's a primer on tweetchats: How to Participate in a Tweet Chat

And here's a good list of many of the tweetchats and their schedule times: How to Participate in a Tweet Chat

But don't just get into chats in your niche. People are people, and fitness is a broad interest. Many people who travel care about fitness. If you like travel, go take part in a twitterchat about travel. Chat. If you like food, go take part in a chat about food. Many people who are into food care about fitness.

What happens is - if you're an even somewhat valuable contributor to the chat - is that people will look at your profile and follow you. They may even right then and there, while you're chatting, click over to your site from your twitter profile.

You can do this fast. Go find chats, fitness and otherwise, and get in on them. But you have to contribute, you have to tweet into the chat - which is done by including the chat's hashtag in your tweet.

And yeah do all the other things above, like following people that follow Men's Health or people who follow Doctor Oz or whoever the current fitness gurus are. A lot of those people will automatically follow you back. Now they'll most likely see your tweets. But don't be a constant pitch man. If I look at your tweets and every one is just a pitch for and a link to your product, I'll probably unfollow you. Anyway...

Other people won't follow you, but you'll be following them. So Retweet them. Then maybe they'll follow you.

Build that massive following. But in the meantime, get into some chats and get people to know you quickly.

There are no groups on Twitter like there are on Facebook or LinkedIn. The lists that darkc0de1 spoke about allow you to break Twitter into different streams to read later. You can have public or private lists to keep track of prospects, affiliates, marketers that you like, offline businesses, niches, etc. The chats that some people wrote about can be very good for increasing follower count and meeting people who chat about a specific interest.

I've had the most luck marketing with reaching out to influencers directly and becoming interested in what they do and retweeting them and introducing them to other people, tweeting their blog posts, etc.

Whatever niche you are in search for that niche keyword in the twitter search box on twitter (example: world of war craft) and follow people that tweet about that certain keyword and niche.

Here some step to get more traffic on twitter:
1.Create a Twitter account, if you have not already
2.Appoint an experienced social media marketer to handle your Twitter account, if you do not know how.
3.Start following people and posting daily
3.Go to Twellow, We Follow or another Twitter directory to find Twitter users in your demographic.
4.Mix your website links and content in with posts about culture, retweets of posts from people in your industry and educational content.
    5.Craft your tweets carefully.
    6.Learn to use a hashtag
7.Improve your customer service through Twitter
8.Post friendly comments on blogs or websites and link them to your Twitter account, if you think your followers would find them interesting.
9.Set up Twitter-only coupon codes, sneak previews or streaming.

Here's a method I use for getting traffic from Twitter:~

Say I want to target traffic on Twitter for a certain model of camera I’m selling. I would type into the Twitter Advanced Search at https://twitter.com/search-advanced the phrase ”I need to buy a camera” without the quotes, and select the option ”This exact phrase”. By doing this you target both traffic which is looking for a camera and which is also wanting to buy a camera.

Then you can tweet to those people using an @ message so the tweet goes directly to them and that means there is a greater chance of them seeing it. Don’t forget to include a link in the Tweet back to your website/blog, affiliate or other offer.

If you use the name of a particular model of camera in the search phrase then you are targeting even more precisely the customers you are after.

For example by using the search term ”I need to buy a Samsung Galaxy Camera 2” you target potential customers not only more precisely but also customers who are more likely to buy from you as they have not only decided to buy a camera but they also know which exact camera they want to buy. That means they are ready to make a purchase – just make sure they purchase from you!!

    I hope this helps?
