Does the number of Likes matter for Youtube Rankings?

Do you think it will help my Youtube rankings if I get as many Likes as possible to a video? And by that I mean likes from addmefast.

Yes, they are likes from real people...but those people just watch the video for about 10 seconds, then Like it and immediately close the window.

So which is more important for rankings...the number of Likes or the engagement of the video (audience retention)?

    I think Youtube will become suspicious if too many people are liking your videos after just ten seconds and then shutting the window. That smacks of paid video views/likes and can get your videos/account deleted.

    I actually think that comments are the most important part if you want to rank your youtube video, I have tried it and it works. You need custom commen's that is releated with your video. You can try likenation.com they offer custom comments for youtube.

      I did bought some comments one time and got my video marked as spam and deleted It's true that they were not custom comments, but rather generic comments like "Nice video!" , "Good job" and so on.

      Any other suggestions?

    I have found that it does not matter at all. As long as you have a lot of views and "some" likes, it can rank for a keyword.

    I learned this the hard way - running up the number of likes doesn't really do anything, it's the number of DISLIKES that can screw with your standings. Apparently Youtube is using this number to see if your content is bad or not appropriate.

    I had a video that was ranking highly for years with 15k views, completely legit views. Slowly the number if dislikes crept up on me from idiots who were expecting something totally for free. I slowly hit around 60 dislikes to only a few likes, then my video was replaced by something that only had a few hundred views. (same keyword)

    Make sure your ratio of likes to dislikes is positive.

    Real likes don't hurt, but as to whether they make a huge different, it's hard to tell.

    Comments, shares and watching the video the whole way through are more important IMO.

    In my opinion likes are more important than comments, for example when you hear about the most popular videos on the youtube, their popularity is counted by likes.

    Any engagement is good for the rankings, and likes are just another form of engagement. Are likes crucial for ranking your video - no! There are other much more important factors that you should be concentrated on. Getting as many likes as you can is not a good idea.
    Likes should stand natural compared to views. 1000 views and 50 likes is normal. 1000 views and 500 likes is not normal and looks suspicious. The important thing about likes is that they should be more than the dislikes. 90% likes and 10% dislikes is a good ratio.

    People likes youtube vidoes as they really think it's good and thus they spread it as well. If their social profile like FB twitter or G+ is connected they got the post of liking in there. This surely helps the videos as it get more views and thus considered in ranking.

    I belive user engagement is more important than likes; if it's true like not by some means then it helps in ranking as they going to see the video more than once. So more user view time more the video ranks higher.

    Why isn't my video upload eligible to be monetized? There are dozens and dozens of other videos which display the ads, it's a classical composer.
    Let me know that would be great if anyone knows.

    Its help somehow because if you get 100 like for a video, you should get 100+ view to that video. Like and viewer both make impact to a YouTube video.

    Personally, The Comments and Likes really matter because they serve as a feedback on your video. And you need to use also the right keywords which will make your video appear in the first page of google.

    I recommend not bothering with buying views or comments. Build a good subscriber list of fan base on facebook and share your videos to your fans and subscribers to start gaining momentum on the popularity of your video.
