So I have a unique unofficial page for a brand on facebook, what are the legalities. Logo? advice?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and just got to say this place looks great!

My questions is:
I've created a facebook page for a pretty big retailer and was surprised they didn't have their own. Now I know I have to declare it as an unofficial page, but can I still use the company logo? Any other legalities I should be careful of?

I've read a few articles here on how to gain users and get people participating in the page, in which case I assume the best way to monetize would be to start posting affiliate links. Any other advice on creating an engaging, successful page?

Thank you in advance.

This isn't a law forum. I would suggest consulting with an attorney especially if it's a major business that could destroy your life with lawsuits.

I am not a lawyer and can not give you any legal advice.

    But for entertainment purposes.....

There are exceptions to copyright and trademark called "fair use" and these include parody uses as well as criticism. However unless you know exactly what you are doing there are liability issues you could be facing - especially by making a FB page for a major company. If your FB page seems like it could be the official FB page for that company and you don't have disclaimers all over the place then its a matter of time until your hear from the company's legal dept.

I really don't think this is a good approach and its unlikely that anything good will come from it.

Cheers for that. As they have somewhat absolutely no facebook presence I think I will just create a page for others to post products and I'll just add my links
