Ok... Let's Crack The FACEBOOK Code.

While I am new to Online Marketing, my analytical skills and gift for problem solving has been very sharp in every field that I have ever ventured into. Being new also gives me a fresh perspective on the matter of Facebook marketing.

I have completed my training under the gurus of the day (very expensive million dollar earners) and appreciate the amazing opportunity that is being presented. But being me I immediately gravitated to the field in which I would would be able to excel.. It didn't take me long to notice that there was a distinct air of uncertainty between my million dollar coached whenever the topic came to the 800Lb Gorilla in the room, FACEBOOK.

I began searching for the most up to date forums and blogs on facebook marketing. I began searching facebook for fan pages used for promoting products and services and noted how they were being used. The more i searched and read the more excited i became. You see I was at the same time developing and testing my own strategy for using face book fan pages to promote products and services.

Now while my research is nowhere close to ending (My 145 IQ is in full gear no end in sight) I believe that I have already struck Gold. As I mentioned earlier it is human nature that when we have done things a particular way successfully for years, we tend NOT to recognize when the traditional method no longer applies and a brand new opportunity is at our doorstep.

My Gurus taught me, and rightly so that the process of reaching buyers has been to:
1. Select a Profitable Niche
2. Select or develop an attractive product or service withing that Niche
3. Create a Landing (Opt-in) Page for that Product or service.
4. Get traffic to that landing page
5. Capture subscribers to and email list.
6. Send emails of value at appropriately regular intervals to that list
7. Present a Call to Action at appropriate intervals.
8. Direct buyers to a sales funnel of some effective design
9. Upsell/Downsell, Upsell/Downsell, Upsell, and thank.
10. Rinse and repeat with each new offer.

This amazing model is tried and true and has worked effectively in every way. Every way that is EXCEPT SOCIAL MEDIA.

You see, just like Online Marketers have been programmed to follow a system that they associate with success, and very few even bother to develop and test new methods, in the same way facebookers and members of other social media have been programmed into a certain way of interacting with social media platforms they use daily and this subconscious programming does not respond in the same way that their subconscious programming responds to the traditional way we have been marketing through advertising and email.

I know, I get a little difficult to follow sometimes but please bear with me.

The average facebook and SM user have have developed subconscious habits for using the platforms that they have been interacting with DAILY for some time now. In fact many of these users have been subconsciously retrained from the habit of interacting with their email accounts.

Sending these new breed of potential customer to their email accounts is the first turn off when promoting on social media.

The second turn off when promoting on social media is sending the potential customer away from the social platform all together to visit your blogs, magazines and other such interactive websites that are NOT a part of their SOCIAL experience. These intermediaries from which you then hope to send them through to your offer are an unnecessary step for you social traffic.

So the point that I am not-so-simply making (apologies) is that when it comes to facebook it may be time to take a step back from what you do in that way that you presently do and take a look at the new vehicle that is before you. It looks like a vehicle from the outside but when you get in you will notice that the controls are all different and everything you knew about driving this type of vehicle is not quite the same. so before you begin applying what your brain tells you is the right steps and get the wrong result, maybe its time for us to look at whats before us and develop a whole new manual for driving it.

I am opening this thread because my research so far has been more successful than I could have ever hoped for but it is still a few tests short of being shared as a complete and viable solution for cracking the code of SOCIAL Marketing. I will keep you all updated as I progress.
