Impressions But No Engagement

On all of my social media accounts, I get impressions but no engagement. What could be the problem?

Here is a run down of what I do:
- I research long tail keywords on Friday and write my article.
- My blog articles are always released on Monday or Tuesday around 9 am. The announcement is the title of the article with the picture that automatically appears.(I spend a lot of time writing a headline)
-I re-post the blog article announcement by adding a quote from the article and a different picture.
-The rest of the week I post others articles and quotes related to my industry.

I get anywhere from 20 to 60 views on each social media outlet. However, nobody clicks my announcement to visit my website. I almost wonder if GA has it wrong in determining who visited my site from the social media outlets.

Any thoughts?

First off, it could be that GA has it wrong, I'd check to make sure your tag is correct, and everything is in order.

But most importantly, since I don't know the specifics I can only offer some tips and make some guesses. Hope this helps.

Consider that your social followers aren't really as interested in what you posting. For example, my Facebook friends are not really interested in online marketing, thus spamming them even with well written articles is a waste of their cat video watching time. They have no interest. Instead you need to be building a following of people who are interested. Takes work, but does work. Follow people in your business, post on relevant groups and forums, and target it.

Try ads. Twitter ads can work in your content is really good, and you target the right people. A few dollars can get you quite a bit of engagement as well as new followers. Facebook ads work too, just target pages that are similar to yours and get rid of anyone that isn't relevant. Try and filter by age, etc.

Feel free to ask me anything.

Thanks for this advice. I'm really struggling with my new business. I never imagined it would be hard to get followers on social media or that it would be difficult to attract users to my website.

Thank you josh....I will consider boosting some of my posts in the future. We will just have to keep trying things to see what can make something happen. All of your advice has been very helpful.

If you're posting in FB, using the boost post feature works really well too. By default, FB page posts don't reach many of the fans (10-20% if I'm not mistaken). Boosting a post can increase exposure many times over.

Do you optimize your pictures for each site? Such as the proper formats for Facebook and Pinterest?
