But aside from being a social media platform, Twitter could be a great way to use for your online marketing strategies. Here are 5 ways how to get a huge amount of traffic from Twitter.

1. Become a member of Twitter.

If you don't have an account on Twitter yet, click register and fill up the form. Enter your name, password and your valid email address for validation. Once you are done, validate your Twitter account through your email address. Once you've finished to validate your Twitter account, then you are ready to start your business online.

2. Follow people.

Follow people on Twitter. Whoever it is, wherever they are, as long as they have an account on Twitter, follow them. Just like any other social media marketing, our first goal is to increase the number of followers. How do we do that? It's our first move to add people so that when they get the notification that we followed them, they will follow us back. The more followers we have, the more people will read our tweets and click on the links we put every time.

3. Create your very first tweet.

Once you have already reached a decent amount of followers, start you very first tweet. Say something interesting, or maybe it's a chance for you to introduce yourself. And then, once you've created your first tweet, it's your privilege and chance to tweet as many tweet as you wanted. Tweet and talk about your business. Don't forget hashtags so that it would be easier for people to locate for your online market in groups. Hashtags samples includes #onlinemarketing, #youtubemarketing, #socialmediamarketing and #videomarketing.

5. Be consistent.

Consistency is very important. Tweet almost everyday, as much as you want so that people could easily locate and read your tweets in their wall. Tweet during daytime where people are active and are online on their Twitter accounts. Don't post at night where people are asleep and nobody will read your tweet.

Twitter is such an effective tool for online marketing. Optimize it wisely and you'd be able to reach your goal of an increase in your market's traffic.

I find asking for a retweet useful, as well as using hashtags too.
Tweets that has the word "FREE" are most likely to get engagement too.
