Selling sponsored posts on your FB fan page
I run a comparatively small Facebook fan page which caters to a very niche theme in a non-english language, but it addresses a group of people with much buying power. Within that world of that specific theme, it is undoubtedly the biggest website.
Now there is a regular website that covers the same theme; it hardly has any updates (I do 3 to posts a day), and from what I gather from a traffic analysis website, it has on average 2,6 visitors per day (a fraction of the the hundreds of people that my Facebook site reaches). Now this website has a banner on it that was placed there by the national branch of a big international cooperation.
A popular feature on my Facebook page concerns the "friday afternoon" post, typically this includes a picture of some sort and a slogan, a wish, or a proverb. Now, I thought about contacting the aforementioned national branch of that company, and asking them to sponsor the "friday afternoon"-post (e.g. by placing a picture of their product, and writing sth, like "XYZ company wishes you a great weekend"). This company also regularly runs competitions on its website.
I have been researching this a little on the net, and I can't find any definitive answer.
Would it be allowed to let a company financially sponsor a post on a Facebook page?
Has anyone experience with this?
Any other ideas to monetize this Facebook-page are also welcome.
Thank you,
Jacob
