How Long Before a Disapproved Facebook Ad is Reviewed Again?

Has anyone appealed a Facebook ad and had it looked at again? If so, how long did the process take?

I boosted a post with an image that got flagged as having too much text and being for a dating site.

The image did not have too much text, and my site is not a dating site. The image was of a woman drinking tea -- not risque in the least.

After getting no response after 5 hours, I deleted the post and tried again. Same image but this time with no text. In about 2 minutes I got the same rejection -- too much text on an image promoting a dating site.

It's ridiculous.

The thing is that I need this ad to run soon, and I'd really like to use that image. Any idea how long the appeal process takes?

Thanks.

It usually takes them a week or longer to get back to me.

Well from my experience, it only took them 24 hours to re-approve. So you might get lucky.

Well, they got back to me (and approved the ad). So it looks like it was within 24 hours at least.

For me it's always been within a few hours, but depends on the type of day. The that's interesting is how long it can sometimes run without throwing a flag. So you are thinking all is 'okay' then a guy is blindsided. Here is an excellent article - How to Get Around Facebook's 20-Percent Text Rule on Ad Images - Jon Loomer Digital

But the thing with me was that on the second one I ran, I didn't have any text at all on the image. (And the first image was actually well below 20% - I used their tool to check it.)

It was also flagging me as being a dating site. It's not anything remotely close to a dating site.

Sounds like these guys are getting a little like Google. We only have greater levels of ridiculousness to look forward to.

Yep. The key to any single traffic source is to build an asset while you can. (Build a list) Because, inevitably, that traffic source will go away. And if you didn't create an asset out of it, you are left with nothing.
