      Totally agree. The key is to create and grow your own group instead of just interacting on other groups. Sure, you can and should interact on other groups but try to keep growing your own group all along. Before you try to make as many people as possible join your group make sure you have plenty of awesome content shared there related to your niche which should make it a no-brainer for anyone who visits the group page to join it. You can also think of having contests or other sort of interaction to increase user participation in your group.
