How to track Facebook Shares of Competitors?

Hi,

I have seen posts on blogs that have been shared over 1M times on Facebook. I want to track where they have been shared. Is there any ways for that?

Thank you,

Perhaps Just search the title on Facebook. Seems simple but it might work.

Facebook data is so skewed by bots and fuzziness that I'd take whatever you see with a grain of salt.

    Hey Dentist

Unfortunately you can't track the shares -- As for FB like pages you can set
    Pages to Watch
Compare the performance of your Page and posts with similar Pages on Facebook.

Also try connecting (back tracking the share) to the page of where the post was shared!

    Cheers good luck!

I am trying to figure out a competitor's strategy. Each of their posts have 1M+ shares on Facebook and I want to figure out how they do it. BTW, they are not a dentistry website... Any ideas for figuring out their sharing strategy?

  • I was also looking for the same answer but I think we will have to ask those that are using these tools on their site they definitely should have the solution to this. Because inter net marketing success is all about tracking and tracking and tracking

If you don't mind posting an example (either from your competitors page or a completely random one) maybe we can do a little research together in this thread. Sound like fun?

The competitor you speak about...they are not Dentist? Then what's the niche You /Them??
    million shares...

Must be super engaged niche or they use other third party tools to allow them to reach 1 million share.

*Alot of those third party tools don't follow FB TOS and FB is cracking down and closing accounts
    .

I have a fan page for games of thrones = 10K likes, highly engaged paged -

ex: Last Post = Reach 4.5K, Engagement (post clicks) 2.5K and likes, shares comment 89
and I dont do much with it right now.

Point is usually pop culture, celebrity, movies etc.. get high levels of engagement like that!

Reality is you have to pay to play on FB (2015 on) and craft your posts with highly engage able content.

Content is King, But Engagement is Queen!

Post Tip (to push it further) - use 3-4 pics, add them to the post
Post ex: 5 steps to a better you (then add 3 pics with it) * Infographics work great!

also utilize the insights of your page, posts, video etc...

    Cheers Good Luck!

They are some website similar to Buzzfeed with articles people like to share with many photos on each article, and interestingly enough they don't have Facebook page of their own (at least with the website's name), and yet they have a crazy Alexa rank and many of their articles shared on Facebook 1M+ times based on the stats on their posts. I want to learn how they do it...
