Youtube Slapped Anyone?

Hey people

Just a quick one.

I have had two channels on Youtube deleted today for not complying with their T&C's.

1) The first channel hosted simple advertisements for my clients ... for example I had a 60 second ad for a Gift Shop.

2) The second was some simple video presentations around IM products.

The funny thing is I have other similar channels which have not been effected (for those of you who don't know you can have 50 channels per account).

I am going to study the Youtube terms again but wondered if anyone else has had experience of this and can help me understand the main reasons Youtube will slap a channel?

Thanks in advance and have a peaceful Sunday.

B

Your best bet is to review the terms again.

Those other channels of yours likely didn't receive any reports or didn't land on the human inspection radar. Could be competitors flagging you, reports, or blips on the radar that warrant human inspection. Best check what you did wrong and fix it.

Did they give any specific reason? It would be nice if Youtube would actually tell you which rule you broke when deleting a channel, rather than making a blanket statement like that.

I think its your competitors playing dirty. They may be flagging your content. On the surface, it doesn't seem like you have broken any rules!

Ironically, you could get your content deleted and then go over to another Youtube channel and find nearly identical content that has been allowed to stay up. Just depends on whether or not a video or channel gets reported. And, often it seems like the Youtube staff is just arbitrarily removing videos and content because it got reported without proper review.

I am still using youtube and getting ton of views to my videos.
But be clever that you should learn new ranking rules on youtube!

I hate those dirty competitor flagging videos. Hope they will play fair.
Those are the reasons why your videos deleted

Maybe you didn't do anything wrong. YouTube (and the web now in general) is a flawed system where competitors can flag your vids to get them deleted and do all kinds of negative SEO. So best to just roll with the punches and realize that you can get screwed at any time where using any 3rd party platform that you do not own or control. And yeah, you can try to contact the powers that be at YouTube to find out if they will even respond to your concern...but yeah...good luck with that!

It's the downfall of relying on platforms that we don't have control of.

The same thing recently happened to me on a fiverr gig which was generating $30/day (for simply 10 minutes of work in total).

We just have to maintain full control of all aspects of our business if we don't want this shit happening.
