Newbie looking for advice targeting audience

Hello Warriors
I finally joined after spending whole last week browsing this forum to learn new ways to help me reach my target audience.
About 5 years I started a small business selling automotive lighting targeting German cars (Audi/BMW/Benz/Porsche and VW). Long story short I was able to turn $100 initial investment into a part time job that generated good income for me.
Right now I am trying to step into new business venture with T-Shirts that also relate to cars and since I have some following form my previous business following I was thinking that it would be very easy to gain their LIKES / SHARES on social media. Well I was wrong. I spend close to $100 to help me get more sales on TeeSpring campaigns and with little to no return.
My question is: How do go about getting more targeted audience for my new venture and what are the most effective ways to spend lets say $200 to get MAX followers or sales?
Sorry if this has been answered million times before but like I said I am new here and I've been doing some reading for the past week before joining as a member. I would like to hear your personal advice / suggestions and even would consider making a deal with someone who would help me get this started in a form of % of the sales.
Thank You

Oh Teespring. It's like gambling you know. Sometimes you get sales when you hit the right audience. Sometimes, it could fail. You have to learn how to work with your Facebook ads. You target your audience based on their interest and location. Then you select the best time to advertise it. You got to hit the right target. Try testing with anywhere from $5-$15/day and see which interest are getting the most click.

    • Spend your $200 on Facebook Ads, and drive traffic to your squeeze page (so you can maximize the effect of your $200 by having subscribers you could sell multiple times to).

You'll need a bit of training on how to target your audience on Facebook, but it's not that hard to learn.

Tee for me is a hit and miss game, you never know which campaign will change the game, and sometimes the ones you think will be the hit turns out to be a nightmare.
But here is the thing, do you know who are your target markets? Have you tried researching to know what appeals to them.
I'll suggest you try with building a fanpage first, build fans, try a sample shirt for them and see what the response rate looks like, and you can also go as far as having your tee store built into your fanpage.

      Good idea.

You can also target people who "like" a particular car brand by using interests.

Thank you for all the suggestions guys. I think my problem is Facebook Targeting because even after seeing all the youtube videos and reading bunch of threads on here I feel like I'm still doing something wrong.

I started campaign with $15 a day budget for 4 days making it a $60 investment and after running it for 2 days I have reached this :

    Reached 4722
    Frequency 1.01
    Total Spend $16.11
    Website Clicks 7
    Avg Cost PPC $2.33 (Terrible)

This is what it looks like
