What is a reasonable CPC goal using FB ads?

Hey Everyone,

I run an online fitness business and I am trying to reduce my conversion costs when using FB ads. Right now I am getting $0.20-$0.30 CPC for my target demographic (i.e. Canada/US, women, 25-45, English-speaking) and around $1.70 for a conversion (i.e. an opt-in for a free fitness video).

I've heard "gurus" talk about getting $0.09 or $0.10 CPC but this seems impossible (for me at least!)

Questions:

1. Is a $0.10 CPC (i.e. clicks to a website, not likes) still achievable? (for a competitive target like mine)

2. If so, what's the secret?

I've tried optimizing my images, headline, copy, placement, etc. but can't get the CPC any lower. I'd love some help...and then can move onto optimizing my squeeze pages!

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Anything under $0.10 is acceptable to me. Under $0.05 is optimal.

Wow drewfioravanti - Do you have a specific strategy you use to get those kinds of results?

The secret isn't that much how your ad looks, but the people you target.

When you match the ad to the audience perfectly, then you will get insane results.

This was used to be done with custom audiences, but now Facebook is very strict about them. I would recommend looking into Facebook retargeting to build your custom audience and then use lookalike audiences to broaden your reach.

Yeah - it sounds like FB retargeting is crucial. I am definitely going to pursue this strategy. Thanks for the advice

I'll give you a hint: It's your offer. It sucks. They can watch fitness videos on FB all day for free. They don't need to give you their email address to do it.

Keep that in mind and start over.

hahaha - a little harsh but I think you're right! Thanks - I've started with a new offer that I think will be much more unique and really matches my target demographic.

Really good advice. Let me know if anyone else has any ideas/experience to share

Theres nothing social about watching a fitness video on your website. You'll get much better results if you challenge them to do 100 pushups in a minute.

Hi, may I ask what's your average order value ?

I mean: how much do you make in sales from those $1.70 leads ?

Driving down CPC will not necessarily make you more money: it's your ROI that matters.

(By the way, it's much easier to increase your ROI by getting higher-quality leads and selling them more stuff, than trying to get $0.10 leads.)
