[Facebook] How to lower cost per click?

Hey I am trying to master Facebook ads but I feel like I am missing something.

Every campaign I run I am paying $.50-.70 cents a click which is really high! My reach is also very low with only 200 people on average. My budget is set at $5 a day.

I am seeing videos of other people running ads and they are getting much better numbers. For example, someone only paid $13 bucks to get a 14,000 reach and over 90 clicks.

How can I lower my CPC for Facebook ads?

I have noticed that ad costs have been increased since the beginning of this month. It could be that everyone and his dog is advertising before christmas, or just FB increased their costs.

$.50-$.70 is yet a very high CPC. What kind of bidding are you using? Also what is your ad CTR and what type is the ad - NF/right hand? Does it run on mobile, desktop or both?

My clicks have always been $.50-70 so I don't think the holidays is the reason :/.

I am using manual CPC and am using the Facebook suggested CPC. My CTR varies...I run both Newsfeed and RHS ads. My NF ads get 1-4% CTR. My RHS ads get 0.8-1% CTR.

I only run ads for desktop users.

Have you guys used the Facebook Power Editor yet? If your not using the Power Editor yet I highly suggest it. You can target your customers better and spend less with better results. Check it out.

I've noticed the cost of FB ads gradually increasing over the last few years. Have you tried varying the specifics of your ad targeting to see if there is any change in cost?

    It is based on bid.

Well you can get super cheap clicks but that would mean targeting countries that never buy for you. Don't focus so much how much the cost per click is. Instead look at the cost per sale. As long as you can get it lower than the income from one sale you got a positive ROI

Q4 is the worst time to try to test ads. everyone is bidding up. Make sure your ad is good. boring ones will just get ran over. Good thumbnail, Call to action, etc.
