Social Media in Fashion Retail

Hey guys, I'm currently doing some research on the use of social media for various purposes within fashion retail. Just wondering if any of you have had any experiences you'd be willing to share, you may be a small business owner in fashion or somebody employed as a social media assistant.     I've had to chance to grow a number of local fashion brands on Facebook from scratch. Here are a few tips:
    1. Brand your page properly. Use your logo in DP, your latest offer, products images in cover photo. Use eruditely written DESCRIPTION about your brand and fill out the ABOUT section thoroughly.
    2. Install e-commerce concentric FB Apps e.g. Facebook Store, Catalogue to showcase your products
    3. Use images. A LOT of them. Branded images to be precise. Invoke conversation with your community while posting those images. Don't brag. Ask questions from users. Fuel engagement by enticing users to comment.
    4. Arrange contests. On frequent basis. From sweepstakes to quiz to photo to video. Trigger your ingenuity and come up with something relevant to your brand and that may resonate with your target audience.
    5. Offer exclusive coupons/discount offers on frequent basis. Give your users a killer reason to stay adjacent with your page.
    6. Post customers' testimonials. People underscore opinions of other people instead of what you tout in your marketing.
    7. Give your page a human touch. Post pictures about your setup, culture, environment. People want to connect with people on social media. Not some cerebral opaque brands.

    And unless you are not doing cash-on-delivery, try targeting people who live nearby your store.
    Try targeting people based on what they buy. There is so much flexibility when it comes to FB Advertisement!

    Fashion exposure and Hollywood mentality go together. Lots of hoopla but rarely pays off but for a very few.
    Yet people expect to see their suppliers/designers out there.
    The fashion people I've worked with are on FB, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter and also heavily in YouTube
    as well as the magazine print media.
    Yet rarely does the time and investment for advertisement pay off for them. Fashion is in or out, mostly out for the majority.

    Well, I don't have my own examples but we can always stay inspired by larger brands.

    Michael Kors recently started an Instagram shopping model. You can check it out.

    H&M and Dior rocks Facebook, but Nike is the best ever on Instagram. They'll provide with some quick tips and takeaways. Hope these ones help you!
