marketing tools for twitter

I recently followed 5 leading marketing experts on twitter, soon after I was followed by other twitter users who lo and behold are internet marketers !

My question is this: did they use a tool that alerted them that i had followed for example Danny Sullivan or do you think they just keep a close eye on people in there industry and see whos following them due to the chance that they may be after a internet marketer ?

Im sure a tool must be used as the latter explanation seem like too much work ? any ideas ?
thanks.

Most likely they used a tool. I used to use Tweet Adder for this exact sort of thing.

But it's easy enough to do manually, too.

You can see who is following any account. If you wanted to try to get users following one account to follow yours, you could simply go follow their followers manually. Doing 25-50 a day would probably get you a pretty decent return on your time, and isn't likely to be aggressive enough to have Twitter suspend your account.

If you'd really like to make the process quick and easy, you can try TweetAttacksPro. It does the sort of thing Brent mentioned but on complete autopilot. You just set it to follow a certain number of people a day based on whatever you'd like - for example, a hashtag or word in their profile that has to do with your niche.

You can also set it up to favorite any post with certain characteristics and it will space out the follows and favorites so that it looks natural (like a human and not a machine).

That way, you don't get suspended. You can even set it up to automate tweeting for you. It costs $77 for one account, but it can save you a lot of time if you're trying to focus on your blog or business.

There's also Tweepi, with plans that are free, or $7.49/$14.99 per month depending on which features you want.

Hadn't heard of Tweepi and was just checking it out. Do you use it personally?

As I mentioned, I used to use Tweet Adder - and I loved it. But after a while, Twitter started cracking down on what they called aggressive following practices. Even though I was only following / unfollowing 20-30 accounts a day, my account got suspended three times.

Have you heard of any similar issues with Tweepi?
