Lots Of Facebook Likes No Purchases

Hi,

I would appreciate any people that have experience with Facebook to help me out.

I have a facebook page for my company (which links to my website that sells an ebook for $45 and up sell package that is $100).

Whenever I boost a post or advertise the page I get loads of "likes" that people respond to really well. I get someone clicking they "like" my page or "like" my comment at about 30% at a cost of about $0.02 a like. I am still learning about Facebook marketing but those stats seems pretty good.

But nobody is buying my product. And all the likes come from Asia, even though I am advertising in the US and Australia also.

I am not using a third party this is all done through Facebook ads. Is this a cultural thing? Is there a culture in India and the like to just click "like"? Are these likes fake?

Am starting to get quite disheartened at the lack of sales.

My sales page has legally certified accounts proving my product works. Authenticated reviews. Transparency showing my LinkedIn profile. Is concise with an attention grabbing headline.

Am running out of ideas

Thanks

How is it possible if you are not targeting India and still getting likes from india? Report it

Sorry I didn't explain myself properly. I am targeting India as well (there is a big interest in my niche there) I target India (English speaking) US Australia and Canada but just seems to be only India where the likes and comments come from.

Makes me a little suspicious. I know there are people just paid to click 'like' for third party vendors out there. But wouldn't expect Facebook to pay people to do that

Maybe they genuinely love the product but $45 too much for them

Well if I were you, I would exclude India from target to see the results.
May be you need to work on the sales copy to get conversions?

First things that come to mind, the offer and sales copy.

Well, that could be yet another challenge.

Keep in mind you're not going to have super-sky-high EPC's from doing what you are doing...

As the audience is super cold and not really that tightly targeted

On Facebook, people can click like with almost no effort. They don't have to spend money to show approval of a product or service. And, as you said, maybe these people like the product but it's out of their price range.

What you should do is try to pull these people off of Facebook onto your own site where you can add them to a mailing list.

In that way, you can turn these lookers and likers into buyers. You will need to add all these people onto your email list and warm them up before you can make any sales. Simply getting likes won't be good enough to make sales.

thanks for the helpful suggestions guys.
I guess I need to figure out how to turn relative traffic into warm leads then ultimately buyers.

Like so much I have learned in my journey in Internet Marketing it is very hard. I thought it would be as simple as 1/get targetted people to my site 2/ a % of people buy. When in actual fact there is a big in-between stage which is copyrighting, social endorsements, freebies, consumer psychology, pricing strategies etc etc etc.

If i am honest I would never turn up on a sales page and buy the product right away no matter how relevant it was to my needs. My first response to most things that involve my money is scepticism I really need to be proven to that by purchasing this product I am benefiting myself. So have to assume my customers are the same.

Question is how? How can you give away stuff to prove your worth without giving away the secret you are trying to sell?

That is an issue if you are selling secrets, it has been an issue for a long time in the WSO section. Perhaps there is another way to write your sales copy or present your product in a different way.

What is sounds like is you are letting facebook define your conversion/click through success. Since you are paying for the ads - they control the impressions. But ask yourself what and I asking the "audience" to do? Is clicking enough? Are you offering a reason for them to convert into an email, or just a like?

Once you get them to the sales page, what is your request? Also, are you presenting a compelling enough case for someone with the need to make a purchase decision? If not, are you at least collecting email or twitter account to follow up with them?

      Hi Phase2

I am sending them to a sales page. I was told a sales page should only have one call to action and it is to purchase the product.

I don't have a mailing list. I just don't know what to send them. Plus I am on loads of mailing lists I delete 99% of them without even opening the email. It seemed like a poor return on time investment.

IMHO $45 is too expensive for an ebook. You could have sold ebooks for that price prior to 2007-2008 but not any more. Drop your asking price and see how it goes.

If that fails try cheap targeted traffic.

Thanks Zeus. I appreciate the feedback. I had often wondered if $45 was a little high. Even though I am in the financial niche and it is fairly typical for info products to sell for hundreds.

I have an ebook that is $45 and as an upsell I have a video course that is $100. I might try selling the ebook for $20 and hope to get more upsells

I think the most important number here is not the likes themselves, but what are the number of hops from your boosted facebook post, to your funnel page?

Basically 'Likes" don't pay bills... its the folks that you channel OFF of facebook, and into your funnel. THAT is the number you need to look at. THEN you can start doing the REAL math that needs to be done. # of impressions, vs number of hops.

I run a campaign often - the same one.. that has gotten 4 likes maybe in the last 4 months... but it converts to my landing page at about 6% and then converts to close 45% of that.

Likes are just a by product of FaceBook, and they have NOTHING to do with a sales funnel. You need to start working / testing your ads / posts, to increase the hop.

you are getting those huge engagement from india because they are not competitive like US and Canada audience.so the competition is high on the US and Canadian Audience than india, so facebook is making your ads available to india more since your ads could not compet with the other country.rule of thumb, always create another ads and focus on one one or two country.since indians are liking your ads, then create another ads and don't add india to the list.also, your targeting may suck, which is why people are not clicking to purchase it.also, you need to write a well compelling sales campaign with call to action that would make users click

Contrary to 'other' advice that's been dished out already...

Price is the last thing I would change.

The sales hook / sales copy and offer are much, much much much more important.

Aside from that, you need to keep in mind your traffic source...

Since you're getting most likes from India chances are you're not getting sales because of the asking price. $45 is too high especially if you convert it to Indian Rupee. People would not want to pay that kind of money for a book unless they need it desperately. I think the best call you have to lower the asking price.
