Instagram... I heard a rumor...

After months and months of many distractions I finally was convinced to "JUMP" on Instagram and set up an account. Using words with # in front of them and sharing on my Facebook account I was able to get a few followers, like 3. I'm thinking this is going to take some time here.
Here is my question: I heard a "rumor" that there is a way to post Instagram photos and videos to my account from my Laptop and its some kind of viewing Apps on PC's or something. My search query brought up many links so I was was hesitant to just start clicking "ANY". I am wondering if you know of anything like this and what you would recommend. I am just not that skilled yet on my mobile device to share in a timely matter.
