Reddit and Pinterest and even google+ has amounted to thousands of visitors to my site over a years period so of course there are other good social networks. Facebook is a third of what it used to be.

Pinterest, Instagram, reddit, tumblr they're awesome for traffic too but they have a good name in the market. I have never tried out the less famous social networks, I guess we can never really judge unless we experiment on them. Perhaps they may have potential that can be explored and tapped into.
As competition will be low, it'll be easier to build a name there, but again that's just theory. Ofcourse I can be wrong and they can be filled with crappy traffic that won't mean much. So I guess only experiment can tell.

Have you ever tried the less famous networks?

Pinterest, tumblr, subreddits have all produced traffic for me. With reddit, make it interesting and relevant. Pinterest and tumblr do well if you have interesting photos that go with your niche. Google plus I use mostly for backlinks. Haven't used instagram for marketing purposes, but that's next.
