Facebook started killing 'Fake Likes'

I work day and night on Facebook for my clients' promotions and recently saw something that is bad for quick marketers. From the last week of December, I'm seeing a numerous complaints where all the pages started losing likes. Then researched a little and found that it's true and Facebook taking aggressive actions on it i.e., there are pages that lost about 20k fans in just 2 days.

    It's about time they did...

As they served about no purpose, except for making the page not look 'empty'

FB is really taking it seriously this time and i have also seen various social media pages which are getting effected by face-book hit and this time one thing is really great that just FB likes are getting done,

I think this is one of the best things that is going to happen to Facebook. Newbies can save themselves from many scams of fake likes, and Facebook can actually become an overall better place.

That's right, but they should not become a dictator. There are also many cases recently where many personal users got their accounts banned and FB seemed to have asked them to upload their govt. proofs to continue using FB. And if you have read that blog of mine, you'll also support me that FB being very aggressive will affect the many ethical marketers too. And there is a worrying report from FB themselves that early teens are dropping FB use.

Yes becoming a dictator isn't justified, but they do what they can to maintain the order of the network they run.Even if FB asked people to upload their government proof, I think as long as they're real people it shouldn't be an issue. I do agree that they're making it very hard for marketers even the ethical ones to run their business.

It's interesting to know that early teens are moving away form Facebook and into other networks. Perhaps we may live to see it decline, but I think it'll find ways to grab their attention again.

i saw this on our page . Every week and this for months we gained 40k likes every week.
now we are down to like 5k a week . I saw this happen to other pages i closely follow to .
But the reach stays good so i don't mind.
