Pictures with text get too blurry when compressed on Facebook

Hey guys,
Any time I post an image with a text on Facebook the text looks too grainy/fuzzy.

I tried to follow Facebook image guide - resized photos (in my case it was 1200x680 300dpi), saved images as a JPEG (as it compresses PNG format to JPEG) and made file size less than 100kb and nothing. The text is blurry. I rasterized text in Photoshop, converted to curves in Corel, uploaded in PNG - didn't help.

Any ideas how to avoid this compression?

    Why don't you resize the image first and write text on it afterwards? That might work for you.

    First resize the image as markeeter mentioped, then make the text but I avoid texts in italics as they appear a little blurry when uploaded to FB
