Facebook '"boosting" posts advice

We have had our page for a few years and use it to communicate with our martial arts students and have noticed a significant drop in views per post, we would happily pay for boosting the posts because it would benefit us to reach more people that like our page.

I tried to 'boost' a post that was created to advertise the club as a way to get fit has been rejected 4 times because it contains a reference to age, physical ability.

Im not really interested in an advert that is displayed on everyones timeline regardless of if they like the page or not I would just like to reach more of the followers we have (around 960) or am I barking up the wrong tree with the boost option?

try swap "ages and abilities" for "everybody" in your ad

    nope

Your Post wasn't boosted because it violates Facebook's ad guidelines by including profanity or language that refers to a person's age, gender, name, race, physical condition or sexual orientation. The post is still published, but it is not running as an ad.

If you post has a photo with a bunch of writing in the photo, then it will get denied.

Try contacting Facebook and explain them the issue. I once tried to run a boost post ad of a restaurant which contained pics of their decor and FB's "advanced" algo thought that it contains images of alcoholic drinks lol :-P
However after contacting their support and clarifying that, they approved it.

Try running something similar as an ad instead of a boosted post and see if you get the same message. You can choose your own followers to show the ad to

The best bet is to contact the support I think. As most of the posts are checked by automated systems, perhaps some wrong flags are being raised in your content even though its legit.

    Hi

Thanks for everyone's replies and suggestions

I know its a stupid thing to say but we would just like to reach more of our members that like the page rather than outsiders, I realise that the above post was a bit contradicting to what I am saying but we would rather the posts showed up at least in peoples news feeds rather than as 'an advert' if that makes sense. We have a lot of people who follow the page because of their interest in the sport who aren't members so to start with its those people we want to reach out to.

We would probably be better off changing it to a group rather than a fan page but we like having the box on the website that says how many 'likes' we have etc

I'll have another couple of goes at writing a post that advertises the classes in such a way it does not 'target' peoples physical abilities.

    Thanks again everyone

Get rid of the "lose weight" portion of the ad. That's targeting people's physical condition.
