Safe to post video thumbnail to Twitter from Youtube?

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anybody can share some light on this. I've been posting popular Youtube links to Twitter without any pictures. I'm wondering if I would run into copywrite problems by posting a thumbnail from a video also with the Youtube link to increase engagement. I wasn't sure how that works since I would be uploading a thumbnail of the content to twitter each time. Thanks

I don't think people will care if you're promoting their videos using their thumbnails. Most of them wouldn't even notice anyway since thumbnails are automatically added when YouTube auto-posts videos to Twitter through linked profiles. Every time I upload a video to YouTube, I automatically share it on Twitter. The auto tweet has the thumbnail of the video along with any message I add to it the share.

I don't think it should create any problems. You're not passing off videos as your own. The owners are getting free traffic so I think they will be happy. They won't mind it.

Thanks for the replies. The tweet links point back to my site where the youtube video is embedded. I get hits to my site and they get hits to their youtube channel.

My site is SLAPSHIFT.TV | fast cars, drift masters, rally racing, auto girls & extreme crashes and there's a twitter link at the top right if anyone wants to take a look on how it's currently running. I would just be adding images to the tweets reflecting the video.

I havent seen alot of people post video links on twitter with pictures unless its there own material, so I wasn't sure if that was because of copywrite issues or because they just don't want to take the time to create the thumbnails.
