Facebook group linking rules

Are you in any Facebook groups? I'm so used to the rules here, I find it odd when Facebook group members link to their own sites or build a list.

Every group sets their own rules, but since there is no "sig" on FB, do your groups generally allow people to link to their own sites, blogs, etc. as well as build a list?

Example of list building: Member makes a first post along the lines of "hey, I just finished a special report and then I thought some people here might be interested. It's totally free. Just leave your email address." Four hundred newbies leave their email on the FB thread.

The poster then says, "Hey guys, I love the response! You guys are great! But I can't handle all the emails, so I set up a page where you can leave your email address and I'll send it to you." They link to their landing page.

Older members suggest adding the report to the files section but that usually gets ignored.

In my head I'm thinking, "We don't even allow that in the War Room" haha.

It's like you said, every Facebook group has its own rules as to what you can post.

Lots of these groups actually encourage linking to anything related to their topic and if your website is, then yeah take advantage and link to it. Or better yet, just share one of the posts from your page that already has a link to your site to the group and just post text. If the post is a picture then they'll see the link from where it was originally posted.

What I have noticed is that if you're going to post in multiple groups within the same niche, make sure that each post is unique and it's not the same.

A lot of the people in the same niche as you are in a lot of the same groups so take the time to write something different in each post to each group so its not spammy.

If you don't then no one will engage with your content, so just respect their rules, post valuable and relevant content, and you'll get tons of exposure for yourself.
