Why do people post videos to FB instead of YT?

I see videos on FB with millions of views all of the time.

Since FB does not revenue share with content provides and YT/Google does I can never understand why people would not want to post their video to YT and simply link to it via FB.

Are people simply naive or am I missing something?

    Remember that on Facebook it's all about engagement and building a fan base.

    So, while that person might not be getting paid for getting certain amount of views by being a Youtube partner or connecting their Adsense on their channel, they are doing something even better, building their brand.

    If they shared that video from their Facebook page then they are getting more exposure for their page which a percentage of those millions of views are liking and becoming new fans. Viral marketing at it's finest.

      Dude I seriously doubt that even 3% of people with viral videos know what they are doing...

        Exactly, which is why the other 97% keep putting up their videos. Some with a little more knowledge still might not get millions of views, but get enough results that make them put up even more videos.

    Ive tried both ways.
    From experience, videos uploaded directly to facebook get more impression than an outbound link from youtube.
