    And who is determining whether it is the best design?

    Best for you might not be best for the market you're trying to sell it to.

    Creativity is definitely great to bring to the table in any business, but it's not the only thing you need.

    Creativity is definitely a must! But it's not the only thing to take into consideration. You will definitely need to research your potential buyers, see how to create something that will interest them. Are your buyers teenagers or are they adults with kids (just a simple example) ? Chances are these 2 groups will respond in a different way to your design.

    Creativity i believe would be very important but you also need to take in consideration about functionality. There are times when designers are getting too "creative" that they forget the functionality of the design.
